Allen is a researcher with fourteen years of experience connecting psychology to media and diverse experiences. With training across quant and qual methodology and through advanced statistical methods, he seeks to use research to make new connections and enhance people’s experiences. Adding UX research to his research repertoire, Allen has conducted studies in AI, navigation, and technology spaces, uncovering users’ perspectives to provide valued insight on products.

Allen obtained a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Central Arkansas, beginning an eclectic professional career spanning clinical work, education, administration, and, now, UX research. From experiences like creating program evaluations and community research, Allen has found a way to make research the undercurrent of his career. He brings tools like quantitative analysis, diary studies, interviews, A/B testing, and more to Rill Insights in an effort to work with users and stakeholders to help them craft the experiences they’d like to.

Aside from his professional career, Allen is a nerd! If you get the chance, ask him how he feels about the history of Final Fantasy or how media can enrich our lives. Lover of comics and anime, and an avid gamer, Allen seeks to use these interests to understand more about people and learn creative tools to apply research to our everyday lives.
