Challenge

CareVirtue received a National Institute of Health (NIH) grant to create a secondary platform that would help caregivers manage the complexity of legal and financial tasks associated with long-term caregiving. Rill Insights was brought in to design the new product, create in-platform caregiver support content, and validate the solution with the customers.

Beyond designing the new product, CareVirtue also needed help with content strategy and writing to onboard new users. They challenged us to create messaging that would not only explain how to use the platform, but to also positively shape user behavior.

Solution

Rill Insights teamed up with UX designers from the SpaceTimeCollective to complete all project deliverables in a 9 month timeline. Under the supervision of project lead Bryan Rill, we worked in parallel to design the application and its content within strict deadlines set by the grant.

On project completion, CareVirtue has a complete UX design with interactive prototypes and a communications strategy with all content ready for delivery in Klaviyo, a marketing automation tool. The new platform is in development with an anticipated launch in 2024.

Bryan and Lisa provided design expertise to create a tailored experience for caregivers. In particular, they provided connections to build our needed team, subject matter expertise, and helped bring our ideas to life with warm and personal designs.

Our Process

Phase 1

Designing the new product

Our team designed a user experience that made the tedious task of entering documents and financial data an easy and rewarding experience, built a caregiver budgeting tool, and wrote content including guidance, information, and resources to create a tailored experience for the customer. We then created low and hi-fidelity prototypes of the platform and conducted usability research to test the product.

Phase 2

Content Strategy & Design

After completing the project and delivering an interactive prototype, CareVirtue reached out to us for additional work that relied on our subject matter expertise in aging and caregiving. The scope of the new project included designing a content strategy and communications for new customer engagement across multiple channels. To accomplish this, we created all the content to supplement the app, leveraging the HOOKED model and behavioral nudges to positively encourage people to adopt the platform and find its valuable resources.

To deliver this messaging, we defined the new user journey and key touchpoints where we could have the most impact. We then built flows for automated delivery, leveraging Klaviyo to design a series of personalized messaging campaigns based on different user attributes and events.
